IN THE VINEYARD Variety: 100% Nebbiolo, Lampia sub-variety
Production area: La Morra (CN)
Altitude and exposure: 300 m s.l.m., South-West.
Soil: Mostly clay and little calcareous composition that gives elegance and complexity.
Year of planting: 1985
Type of growth: Guyot
Fertilizer: Natural manure, green manure
Soil management: Only hoeing and mowing in the rows
Harvest: By hand in small crates; mid-October
Yield per hectare: 40 hl

IN THE CELLAR Fermentation: In stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with a maceration of over 20 days.
Aging: Traditional style, in large Slavonian and French oak barrels of 30 hl for 24 months.
Bottling: Bottled, upon a passage in stainless steel tanks. Aged in bottle for another 6-12 months.
Release: 4 years after harvesting
Bottles produced: 5.000-6.000

TASTING NOTES Intense garnet red with brick hue. Hints of balmy spices, orange zest, tobacco and cocoa with clear notes of cherries in liqueur and fresh raspberries. The palate is clean, elegant and full-bodied with fine and silky tannins. The good acidity contributes to a great aging potential. A Barolo in which the characteristic of Nebbiolo are expressed in their most delicate and elegant version.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS Perfect with game and red meats. Superb with dishes garnished with white truffle of Alba. Excellent with mature hard cheeses.

EVOLUTION Wine of incredible longevity. If properly stored, it matures slowly and steadily in the bottle, expressing his magnitude even after 20-plus years.
